CONSTRUCTION OF NEW APRONS, CONNECTING TAXIWAYS, BUILDING AND SUN SHELTERS IN AL HASA
AIRPORT (OEAH)

1 .INTRODUCTION

1.1. This AIP Supplement aims to update operators of the ongoing construction works in AL AHSA airport including the work in the southern apron, expanding constructions of the northwest apron (to the right of the RWY 16 threshold), and expanding constructions of the southwest apron (to the right of the RWY 34 threshold).
1.2. The working areas for the construction are provided in attachment.
1.3. Information within this AIP Supplement replace all information published in previous AIP SUPs including AIP SUP 23/24 dated (19 DEC 2024).

2 .PURPOSE

2.1. Inform pilots and operators about the duration and timeline of working phases in AL AHSA Airport.
2.2. Disseminate the temporary operating procedures.
2.3. Detail the affected areas in the airport.
2.4. Detail the safety control measures.
2.5. Detail the temporary obstacles including the temporary fences in the airport.

3 .PHASES OF WORK

3.1. PHASE1: CONSTRUCTION WORKS IN THE SOUTHERN APRON NEAR THE SOUTHEAST OF TAXIWAY (A), BUILDING CONSTRUCTION EAST OF THE SOUTHERN APRON, CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BUILDINGS AND/OR INSTALLATION OF SUN SHELTERS IN THE SOUTHERN APRON, EXPANDING CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE SOUTHWEST APRON (TO THE RIGHT OF THE RWY 34 THRESHOLD), EXPANDING CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE NORTHWEST APRON (TO THE LEFT OF THE RWY 16 THRESHOLD).
(WORK IN PROGRESS - THE TEMPORARY FENCES ARE STILL IN PLACE)
3.1.1. Closure of the southern apron, closure of the northwest apron (to the right of the RWY 16 threshold), closure of the southwest apron (to the right of the RWY 34 threshold), closure of the northwest apron (to the left of the RWY 34 threshold).
3.1.2. Paint (X) mark on the pavement as per the standard sizes on the southern apron entrances.
3.1.3. Install a temporary fence (height: 2.5 m).
3.1.4. Install lighted (X) sign on southern apron entrances.
3.2. PHASE2: CONNECTING TAXIWAYS LINKING THE SOUTHERN APRON TO TAXIWAY A
(COMPLETED - TWY (A) IS FULLY OPERATIONAL)
3.3. PHASE3: EXPANDING CONSTRUCTIONS OF THE NORTHWEST APRON (TO THE RIGHT OF THE RWY 16 THRESHOLD).
(WORK IN PROGRESS - THE TEMPORARY FENCES ARE STILL IN PLACE)
3.3.1. Closure of the northwest apron with marking (X) as per the standard sizes.
3.3.2. Install a temporary fence (height: 2.5 m).
3.3.3. Install flashing lights on the temporary fence.
3.4. PHASE4: CONNECTING THE SOUTH END OF THE RWY WITH THE SOUTHWEST APRON.
(COMPLETED NOT OPERATIONAL)
3.5. PHASE5: CONNECTING THE NORTH END OF THE RWY WITH THE NORTHWEST APRON.
(COMPLETED NOT OPERATIONAL)

5 .PRECAUTIONS

5.1. During all phases, pilots must use the northern apron (next to the terminal).
5.2. During all phases, pilots must pay attention when taxing near the work areas.
5.3. Before each flight to AL AHSA airport, pilots must carefully check AIP AMDT, AIP SUP and daily BULLETIN for any update.
